Frequently asked questions

This format was made with churches in mind. The package allows for you to print as many scripts as you would like for the play, and you may perform it as many times as you would like over the course of a month. Schedules can be unpredictable, and there may be instances where you are unsure of the number of students planning to participate. Perhaps you want to perform an unplanned encore performance! This offering allows you some flexibility without needing to purchase another performance license; it also ends up being a more cost-effective option for numerous performances.
-
Absolutely. As long as each participating student has a purchased script to read from, this is perfectly fine — encouraged, even. If you decide retroactively that you would like to perform it publicly, please purchase an appropriate performance license.

We aim to send your download link as soon as we possibly can. This may be a matter of minutes, or it might be the following day. We have a very small team that reviews and processes each order individually, so our delivery may not be as immediate and efficient as what other companies are able to provide. Thank you for your patience with us!

We love physical copies!… However, at this time, our plays are only available in the digital format. Depending on demand this may change, but the digital distribution model is what we are able to sustain for the foreseeable future.

We are happy to grant recording privileges reserved for private viewings.
If you would like to post a recording of one of our Short Plays (such as Theatre Bible School), we request that you credit the playwright and Theatrethical Publishing in the video’s description, and that the play is properly titled. No recording licenses are required for posting Short Plays, provided they are posted with the proper guidelines.
If you would like to post your institution’s recording of one of our One-Act or Full Length plays on social media or video sharing platforms, please purchase a recording license from us to be sure that the playwrights get fairly compensated. It’s our philosophy as a publishing company that recordings of our plays help spread the word about us, so 100% of recording royalties go directly to the playwrights, instead of splitting them with us.
If you are unsure whether your play is a Short Play, One-Act, or Full Length, check the play’s product description. If it is still unclear, we are happy to answer any questions, at support@theatrethical.com.

You certainly may! We are always looking to expand our library of classic retellings. Submissions are not guaranteed to be published, but we welcome submissions of all works that are in alignment with our mission.
You may email any play submissions to admin@theatrethical.com, along with your name, and we will be in touch!
